This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to apply in-depth knowledge of the music industry to a range of work situations.

It applies to individuals working in fields including performance, composition and music teaching, business and technical production.

2.Maintain industry networks

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

explain the factors that influence trends in music

describe the role of networking in enhancing professional practice

list and describe a range of professional development opportunities relevant to own practice.


Assessment Conditions

Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:

sources of relevant information

environments for networking and interacting with others.

Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
